Not the fabled Bimini Twist Knot! Oh, the horror!

I've never been a Boy Scout but I'm pretty sure part of the technical definition of a noose is that it closes when any tension is applied. This would obviously be unworkable if the rope was used as a pull for anything.

All of this stuff is insane. It isn't helpful on any level. Black people are either free agents capable of making reasonable evaluations of commonplace objects and events or they are infantilized to the point of being dangerous to themselves and others. It's one of those.

There are some women infantilized to that point. They don't help other women and are dangerous to men and boys. They are incapable of promoting equality or justice or doing much of anything. If people like that can't be talked out their irrational beliefs, they need to be ignored by society.

Actual racists seem to have no problems getting their messages across to their target group. They are very plain and usually very direct. Ask the Jews.

That is not a Bimini Twist. It is a noose. The end is at the top, not in the middle.

I've never been a Boy Scout
    Apparently.

but I'm pretty sure part of the technical definition of a noose is that it closes when any tension is applied. This would obviously be unworkable if the rope was used as a pull for anything.
Yeah. That's the point. It's useless as a pull rope.

If that picture was taken by NASCAR that means NASCAR was aware the knot in question was in place in 2019; and therefore knew Bubba Wallace was not the target…. and they would know this on Sunday; before they went out and made a big racial publicity stunt over it.

    INVESTIGATION TIMELINE

    Sunday, June 21
~ 4:30 p.m.: NASCAR alerted to the presence of the noose by member of No. 43 team. NASCAR security performs full sweep of the garage. Only the pull rope of the 43 team was discovered to be a noose; all the others were regular ropes.
~ 6 p.m.: NASCAR senior leadership meets, determines need for investigation and begins initial steps of the investigation.
~ 7:30 p.m.: NASCAR President Steve Phelps notifies Bubba Wallace of noose discovered in garage.
~ 10:40 p.m.: NASCAR releases statement after continuing to gather facts and further investigation.

    Monday, June 22
    – Early Monday a.m.: FBI Birmingham office reaches out to NASCAR.
~ 10 a.m.: FBI arrives at Talladega Superspeedway with 15 field agents to begin investigation. NASCAR provides the FBI with a list of personnel with access to the garage, as well as video and images taken from the weekend and the 2019 fall weekend as well.
    – Over the course of the day: FBI interviews race team personnel from multiple teams, NASCAR officials, track, fire and safety personnel and track custodial staff. Talladega Superspeedway also provides the FBI with a list of events that had taken place since October 2019, which is when the new garages opened.
    – End of the day: FBI reports interviews are complete for the day and the evidence at that point was inconclusive, with plans to continue its investigation the next morning.

    Tuesday, June 23
    – Early Tuesday a.m.: NASCAR receives additional video and provides it to the FBI. The video corroborated the testimony from one of the interviews the FBI had conducted earlier that the noose was present in that stall during the fall 2019 Cup event.. . .

    Okay.

    Regardless, it's a noose.

    Actual size.

Now, how is this a threat to anybody over hamster size? How could it work as a pull if it's a noose? Why would it appear in a number of garages full of white guys?

This is just some stupid error on the black guy's part. There are lots of objects that have killed whites over centuries. We don't stumble around looking at axes, cyanide chambers, nooses (God knows we've hung our share of our own), or pistols thinking about the no doubt large number of totally innocent lives taken by them one way or another.

Nooses aren't reserved to blacks. More whites were hung simply because there were more, it was cheap, and handy to employ. This was just a technique that applied to any perceived criminal whether sentenced by courts or public opinion. It isn't specific to any skin tone.

Now, we can argue about how many whites were killed by erroneous public opinion versus blacks killed by erroneous public opinion. I'd guess whites since there were simply a lot more to get up to tricks.

The problem there is a lack of due process.

Something we're apparently wrestling with again.
