    Flipping Minnesota

It May Be Too Late for Democrats to Hold on to Minnesota in 2020
Democrats know they must hold onto Minnesota to have a chance to defeat Trump. In fact, according to The Hill, President Trump could lose Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania and STILL win the 2020 election if he takes Minnesota.
That’s why Trump and Pence have already personally traveled to Minnesota SIX times in just the last two years. MN has the longest unbroken record of voting blue for president, and they’re putting everything they’ve got into flipping this state red.
The backdrop to Trump's rally earlier tonight almost overshadows the rally itself.

The mayor of the Twin Cities came out strong against holding the rally.

    Sept. 29.
President Donald Trump announced yesterday that his next MAGA rally will be October 10th in Minneapolis, Minnesota the same district as Rep Omar. The mayor of the city has announced that Trump is not welcome and that no police officers are allowed to appear in the backdrop of the stage.

Here is Frey’s full written statement:

Under ordinary circumstances, it would be an honor to welcome a sitting President of the United States to Minneapolis and to showcase all our city has to offer on the national stage. But these aren’t ordinary circumstances. Since taking office President Trump’s actions have been reprehensible and his rhetoric has made it clear that he does not value the perspectives or rights of Minneapolis’ diverse communities.

On October 10, our entire city will stand not behind the President, but behind the communities and people who continue to make our city – and this country – great. While there is no legal mechanism to prevent the president from visiting, his message of hatred will never be welcome in Minneapolis.
Gee, the mayor sure wouldn't want the backdrop to Trump to resemble this earlier rally in Minneapolis:

They're all singing O Happy Day under their breath. The MN police played Mayor Jacob Frey briliantly, marketing a pro-Trump tee shirt for the occasion, seen here:

Mayor Frey backed down about protesting the alleged high costs of hosting the event, and decided to counter with a Love Day:

Mostly it's been noisy but peaceful, I think.

At the rally itself, Trump dished out a lot of red meat. For both sides, actually.

    What a world.
“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.... We really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.” —Saikat Chakrabarti, then AOC's Chief of Staff, explaining the Green New Deal for the hard of hearing.

"We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them." —CNN's Don Lemon, showing how to stop demonizing people.

One does wonder how man people showed up and went to the rally. Noting news isn't reporting that.
