The most recent case of revolving-door justice came Saturday morning, with the release, with no bail, of a woman charged with punching and cursing at three Orthodox women, ages 22, 26 and 31, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at dawn the day before.
Private security forces, armed, come to mind. Including all able-bodied women.
    Private Checkpoints in certain neighborhoods.
    Hire the Israelis.

    NYC in full rewind:

Guardian Angels to patrol Jewish neighborhoods in New York City after recent attacks
The Guardian Angels, a private, unarmed crime prevention group, said it would start patrolling the New York borough of Brooklyn on Sunday following a series of anti-Semitic attacks.

Curtis Sliwa, who founded the organization in New York City in 1979, said the patrols would start at noon in the Crown Heights neighborhood and expand to Williamsburg and Borough Park later in the day.

The move came hours before five people were wounded in a stabbing attack during a Hanukkah party at a rabbi's house in upstate New York late Saturday. . . .
The Guardian Angels were controversial in the '80s, but on balance very positive. Their target back then was general street and subway danger.

The subtext for the Guardian Angel controversy back then was that the police simply weren't able or allowed to enforce the law effectively. This ties in with current idea to get rid of the police in some areas.

Whether ineffective or absent, people will devise replacements for law keepers if police can't do that job.

While the Guardian Angels have worked out, they won't always choose those law keepers as wisely.

The Guardian Angels always stayed in bounds, but they evoked the image of vigilantes, and deliberately so. And their presence was reassuring to subway riders and pedestrians street side.

I don't think the street cops minded them too much. They supported the police, after all. I think the resentment came from the upper ranks, the political tiers.

Oh, no doubt since it demonstrated a total lack of confidence in what tax-payers consider the function of the police to be which is safety (that may not be their function but that's what people think they are paying for).

But it won't always be Guardian Angel types running off the riff-raff. It never is for long in urban areas. It will be gangs extorting money and skipping that pesky due process step.

Suggest that in heavily Jewish areas they patrol on Shabbot / Saturday when people are walking to and from their places of worship and visiting around the neighborhood. Maybe also have some women patrolling.
