Man confronts Elizabeth Warren about her plan to wipe out student loans

This guy has a far better education than a graduate from Boston University with a degree in economics, by the way.

Andrea Widburg, writing at American Thinker summarizes Warren's plan for wiping out student debt, based on her ode to herself:

My Plan to Cancel Student Loan Debt on Day One of My Presidency

Ms Widburg then provides a transcription of the audio in the video above:
The audio is a bit difficult to hear, but it appears that the man opens the conversation by saying, "My daughter is getting out of school. I've saved all my money. She doesn't have student loans. Am I going to get my money back?"

Warren doesn't even have the grace to praise him for being responsible. Instead, she responds instantly: "Of course not."

The man, beginning to be upset, asks, "So you're going to pay for people who didn't save any money, and then those of us who did the right thing get screwed?"

And that's when Warren's tin ear and lack of compassion kick in. She smirks, she shrugs, and she says, "No, it's not anyone got [sic] screwed..."

"Of course, we did," says the man. "My buddy had fun, bought a car, went on vacation. I saved my money. He made more than I did, but I worked a double shift for the extra money for my daughter since she was 10. So you're laughing at me."

    "I'm not," says Warren.

The man knew what he had seen. "Yeah, that's exactly what you're doing. We did the right thing, and then we get screwed."

As if she'd heard nothing he said, Warren reaches out to shake the man's hand, saying as she does, "I appreciate it."

He's having none of it. "Nah, that's all right," he says, waving off her proffered hand and walking away.
"He's no Prince Charles," she sniffed to herself. (I know what she was thinking, of course.)

    Widburg:
Not only is Elizabeth Warren a wannabe tyrant who intends to implement plan after plan to incrementally nationalize America's wealth, but she's also a dumb bunny who, once she's off script, has little to say for herself and no compassion.
A more honest response by Pocahontas would've been, "There are more voters like your buddy than there are of you. So yes, it sucks to be you." That last should be her campaign slogan.

This gentleman is part of the "other people's money" you've heard tell about.

    You'd think so.

A lot of people who go to Harvard never pay a dime. Harvard has a hedge fund, really Harvard is a hedge fund.

Bob's Community College and HVAC Repair is a lot different. At least Bob's CC graduates can get a job without faking an ethnicity.

My God Billy, you cannot see his point? Why is it that people that work, scrimp and save have to pay, and the people that don't, don't have to.

My favorite is an old folks nursing home. When you get old, if you have the money, you will pay the 6 to 8 thousand dollars a month for your care. But, if you blew your money in your youth, the county or state will pick up the tab.

Edit. Why this post linked to Newmans instead of Billys, I have no idea.

It would be interesting to know what you do for a living and how hard you think you work. You already bitched about paying your taxes. I’m sure you’ll love paying double what you pay now under Warren.

It reminds me of the Joe the Plumber moment, or the coal miner moment.

Progressives seldom get called on the downside reality of their designs, and when they do there's no good answer.

That's why Warren is said to have made a "faceplant" in releasing her plan for "Medicare for All." It doesn't add up, and she let herself get called on it. Be like Bernie, Pocahontas, just promise, don't explain.

That's also why BJ tends to make inscrutable wisecracks rather than substantive responses. There's no good answer. Warren laughed this one off, but the fact is, responsible people like this guy get the shaft.

Warren's logic is that there are not many people responsibly saving money, and those that are are probably Republican anyway.
