Protesters from the Black Lives Matter movement vandalized and toppled a statue Tuesday night in Madison, Wisconsin, of Col. Hans Christian Heg, an immigrant from Norway who died fighting for the Union against slavery.

Has tearing down statues become a game...…………...
Not a game. It's the opening gambit before they get around to killing people. At least, that's how it has worked every where else it's happened. First the symbols, then the people.

‘Family Guy’ Star Mike Henry Will No Longer Play Cleveland Brown

    By Joe Otterson

Mike Henry is exiting his role as Cleveland Brown on “Family Guy.”

Henry made the announcement Friday on Twitter. “It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years,” he wrote. “I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role.”

Henry has been with “Family Guy” its first season in 1999. In addition to Cleveland, he also voices Consuela, a Latina maid, on the long-running animated series in addition to numerous other minor characters. Henry also voiced Cleveland and his Black stepson, Rallo Tubbs, on the spin-off series “The Cleveland Show,” which aired on Fox for four seasons from 2009 to 2013.

He is now the latest white actor to announce they will no longer voice a character of color on an animated show. Jenny Slate announced on Wednesday that she would no longer play the biracial character Missy on the popular Netflix show “Big Mouth.” Not long after that, Kristen Bell announced she would be stepping down from her role as a biracial character in the upcoming Apple animated series “Central Park.”
My understanding is that actors "act". That is, they don't portray characters identical with themselves. They can be of different races, ages, degrees of intelligence or bodily ability, come from different regions or even countries, and have different incomes or sexual interests than the roles they play.

If that's off the table now, there isn't much use in seeing fictional portrayals at all. I have no interest in seeing genuine prostitutes , criminals, or morons. I paid for the "acting" part where I assume some skill is involved.

It will make it hard to write scripts for hard-to-find sorts of people. Scripts will be tailored to the talent pool of actors.

It doesn't sound like "talent" will be a feature of any pools in the future. It was already pretty dicey.
