    "Protesters" attack Wisconsin state senator

    As reported by Fox News:
A Democrat state senator from Milwaukee was pummeled by a group of protesters at the Wisconsin State Capitol late Tuesday during a violent clash that included two statues being toppled, a report said.

Sen. Tim Carpenter told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he was beaten after taking a photo of some of the protesters.

Cleavon Little famously asked, "Where the white women at?"

Well, Sen. Carpenter, they're coming straight at you.

Happy this happened to a Democrat. Maybe now they will begin to realize what they are creating. They won't be leading the revolution, they'll be strung up by it.

I don't know anything about this particular person. I don't know if he'll come out for "law and order" or try the groveling route. Or some unctuous combination, like the Seattle Mayor.

    We'll see.

I just read that he stated that since he was a gay man, he is "one of them, why did they attack him"?

Think about that for a minute. A state senator is saying to rioters that he is on their side?

He should be turned out of office.

Has this legislator endorsed street violence? Is he an advocate of abolishing police? What policies does he personally support that justify you being happy he was attacked and apparently badly injured by rioters? You're no better than the thugs who attacked him if you celebrate the violence, regardless of the individual at whom it was directed.

    How predictably OT of you.

I agree with the Senator that this street violence is going to escalate to people being killed.
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

    It's a commonplace observation.

Politicians (not just Democrats) are often appeasers and will at least voice support for a number of things that if taken to their logical conclusions lead to social breakdown. Most of the time, most of the people don't let it get that far. It obviously is happening now.

One of the problems with social breakdown is that the leadership isn't magically exempt from the effects - a thing politicians too often forget.
