Why?
I have been trying to ignore the idiocy swirling in DC, hoping this shit would just fade away. I haven't watched the news except for glances but this AM I saw the channel line up and CNN has 4 hours blocked out for the vote for impeachment of Trump 2.
WTF.... those congress idiots were giving reasons why Trump must be impeached.
Shit, most of them haven't been in DC for months and I'd bet none of them have seen the floor of Congress before 10:00 am in decades.
Can someone explain what they are going to gain?
What is the long game of this?
Robert Francis O'Rourke, Democrat, White guy, spent ~78 million to defeat, Ted Cruz, Republican immigrant Dark guy …
and lost …
But the Republicans are racist.

Subjugation.
In 2016, Trump ran and won as a "populist" against the will of the entrenched elite. You can argue numbers, the EC, whatever, but the bottom line is that he was sworn in and was in office for 4 years.
Our political betters are going all out to make sure that never happens again.
You will choose who they want and allow you to choose. They will point to Trump as the reason we need "seasoned lawmakers" that know the rules as to how the game must be played.
Sure, there will be some chances for some inconsequential district to elect a Congressperson with no recognition beyond their gerrymandered borders, but they will either convert or quickly be silenced with shit committee assignments and followed by being politically and financially ostracized.
We are so fucked.

We have a winner!!
Trump will be taken apart, piece by piece. As a sign to others.

I think this is the measure of how furious and comprehensive the repression of conservative thought is to be, now that the left is coming into power.
There is to be no rationale, much less logic and argument. There is only retribution.
- "Are you going to be responsible for the rioting if we hear this case?" — Chief Justice Roberts, who apparently had a secret codicil to his oath of office.
- "Thieves only carry weapons for self-protection and to provide the householder an incentive to cooperate." — Texas State House Rep. Terry Meza, proposing to bar "castle defense" protection for victims of home invasions.
- "The way I see it, there's always, c'mon, there's always money. It's there." — Elizabeth Warren, explaining socialism.
- “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all.... We really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.” — Saikat Chakrabarti, then AOC's Chief of Staff.
- "We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them." — CNN's Don Lemon, showing how to stop demonizing people.
