Wait Until You Hear About This New (Frustrating) Airline Fee

Very thankful for not having to travel on business any more.

Airline connections are the worst: For starters, you have to board a plane twice in one day (the worst), but then layovers inevitably end up being hours long or so short you get stuck sprinting down the hallway to your gate. And, sadly, they just got worse: Apparently British Airways, American Airlines and their alliances partners just added an additional baggage fee for some connecting flights.

The change was instituted in June and will affect people who booked two separate tickets for their journey. What does that mean? Well, if you booked two flights on the same ticket, through the airline's website or a search engine like Expedia, you're in the clear (for now). But if you found a cheaper option involving two separate purchases from the same airline, you might have to pay a second luggage fee to get your bags delivered to your final destination.

A One World spokesman told Time that the extra fees are necessary because separate bookings for connecting flights are more difficult to manage and often result in problems in transfers and delivery. Fair enough, however, for some carriers this will also require passengers to leave their terminal to collect their bag from the carousel, pay for the second leg of their trip, then go through security all over again. Rough.

We guess this is just another reason to be part of Team Carry-on.

I spent a week in Scotland with just a carryon and a personal item.

This actually isn't new. It's been a "hidden fee" for a while now.

But it's still part of the Stupiding of Airlines.
