    Any travel plans coming up?

We are headed to the Big Island for a couple weeks this February. Haven't been there since attending a wedding two years ago and mostly only stayed in Kona. This time we will have access to a car so we will likely tour the whole island as we have done in years past.
    If it pays, it stays

Any chance you'll buy a 4-5 bedroom house or condo in Kona that you'd let a friend use?
May we raise children who love the unloved things - the dandelion, the worm, the spiderlings.
Children who sense the rose needs the thorn and run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards the sun...
And when they're grown and someone has to speak for those who have no voice,
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things and be the one.

HRH and I and the dogs are going up to the Sierra the first weekend in February. She wants to see snow, poor deprived Florida-raised child. We figure the puppy will love it and the dachshund will think we've lost our ever-lovin' cotton-pickin' minds.

Knowing how this child gets when it's anything resembling cold, I imagine that snow will be amazing and wonderful for about 10 minutes...and as soon as her feet get cold, she'll curl up with dogs on the bed and never venture out until it's time to go home.

I'll report back in a couple of weeks.

You can keep the snow capped mountains. I like the Sierra in summer
I'm thinking that once, in 1953, a group of interesting people just happened to be in a coffee shop at the same time and a great discussion of issues, ideas, and the meaning of life occurred. Since then we have been waiting at Starbucks for Lawrence Ferlinghetti to say something heavy.
