I recorded this but just got around to watching it.

It stars Oliver Reed in his first credentialed film appearance and was the first Hammer film without the iconic Cushing and Lee team to be filmed in color. The story line is not a knock off from the previous American films. Instead, the plot is loosely taken from the novel, "A Werewolf in Paris" by Guy Endore.

The setting was changed from Paris to Spain simply because Hammer had developed elaborate sets for an inquisition movie that was not made due to Catholic religious concerns at the time (1961).

It's quite the little gem and I recommend it to those who are weary of the same old thing.
